Finding the best coffee maker is no easy task. There are so many different brands out there, so many different models. The specifications and the prices vary so wildly that it can be quite difficult to try to find out which coffee machine is best for you. However, do not fear! There is a way to make sense of all this and hone down on exactly which machine is right for you. Everyone’s needs are different, and like most things in life, there is no “one size fits all solution” when it comes to coffee makers. The first thing you need to consider when shopping for a coffee machine is what exactly your needs are.
What size machine do you need? There are models out there that brew 10-12 cups at a time, and there are single serve coffee machines that make one cup at a time. How many people will drink coffee at your house? If it is just you, or you and your spouse, you may be better off with a single cup coffee machine. However, if you have a large family, or like to brew a large pot each time, you will be better off with a model which makes 10 cups at a time. Some models which make 10 cups at a time (such as the Bunn and Cuisine ranges) can be programmed to make 4 cups if you wish.
Once you’ve decided on the size of coffee machine that you wish to own, you should consider your budget. Coffee machines can run to the thousands of dollars, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you should run up a mortgage buying the most expensive high end espresso machine. There are great machines available in a range of prices. If you are on a tight budget and wish to spend as little as possible, you would do best to get a simple French press.
